It wasn't easy for Rebekah to put herself out there... but with the end of the C.A. trial this week she finally had to have a say. It helps that you and others received it so gracefully.

StacieRiley's Smilehttp://rileys-smile.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4480035980591895525.post-32236574308812125652011-07-09T11:48:53.956-07:002011-07-09T11:48:53.956-07:00I LOVE this! I love how you use the song, the twisty haunting voice that pulls you in, the questions that you have and want to keep reading, and I love a piece that leaves me full of questions in the end. You did REALLY well. I find it absolutely strange & inspiring that a few of us today (yesterday) have said that they (we - but I can't include myself, I don't think my writing was near the caliber this is) are uncomfortable writing in whatever genre. You so nailed this! This, sci-fi, & horror are my wheelhouse (reading more than anything, or tv, movies).

I read your disclaimer, but I wasn't able to stop reading. I think this is my favorite piece of the day. Honestly!

For the record, Hotel California used to frighten me. I hated when my parents listened to the Eagles album because then I had to hear this freaky song! Of course it doesn't any more, but as a 5-11 year old (they loved the album - it had staying power in the household), I didn't like the idea of going to a place you could never leave.Lex the momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05000384127075772584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4480035980591895525.post-88237663849273181842011-07-08T22:06:33.328-07:002011-07-08T22:06:33.328-07:00Love this lady! I loved the song and its role in transitioning from questions to answers in the piece.

Your words had a calm flow to them. There was only one line that stood out to me as though it didn't belong, "Upon the table was a glass pitcher of iced water with slices of cucumbers floating atop." Upon and atop just threw me for a loop for some reason, like they didn't fit with her voice.
Thanks for playing along with us this week!Yuliyahttp://www.shesuggests.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4480035980591895525.post-10013800382911189192011-07-08T15:51:53.599-07:002011-07-08T15:51:53.599-07:00This was interesting!
