Where Are You Christmas?

Where are you Christmas? Why can't I find you?

It is buried somewhere underneath the anxiety, somewhere in between the rushing around trying to make everything perfect and somewhere amongst the throng of pushing, shoving Black Friday shoppers.

At this time of year, expectations are high and for many, their lack is magnified - not lack of things but lack of basic necessities such as food, family or even a home.

This year, I am searching for the real Christmas, the one in which simple pleasures are savoured - the delighted laughter of a child, the warmth of a generous spirit and the simple pleasure of "just being" with friends and family.

Are you looking for Christmas?  Fill your heart with love.

Where are you Christmas
Why can't I find you
Why have you gone away
Where is the laughter
You used to bring me
Why can't I hear music play

My world is changing

I'm rearranging
Does that mean Christmas changes too

Where are you Christmas

Do you remember
The one you used to know
I'm not the same one
See what the time's done
Is that why you have let me go

Christmas is here

Everywhere, oh
Christmas is here
If you care, oh

If there is love in your heart and your mind

You will feel like Christmas all the time

I feel you Christmas

I know I've found you
You never fade away
The joy of Christmas
Stays here inside us
Fills each and every heart with love

Where are you Christmas

Fill your heart with love

I am breaking my "no Christmas songs before December 1st" rule because I am linking up with Monday's Music Moves Me over at Xmas Dolly's where the theme for the next few weeks is Christmas songs.
